Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova increased grain exports, due to limitations in Russia and Ukraine - 20.04.2011

The current grain season did not show unsuccessful results for all countries of the Black Sea region. According to Dian Donev, Director of the company Scanwel, due to imposition of limitations for grain exports from Russia and Ukraine, other countries of the regions – Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova = will be able to essentially increase grain export volumes.
EU ‘failing to acknowledge benefits of GMs’ - 19.04.2011

The European Commission has slammed government across Europe for failing to acknowledge the benefits of allowing farmers to grow genetically modified crops.
Russia: grain production to total 75-85 mln tonnes – forecast - 19.04.2011

According to expectations, the index of spring grains production in Russia in the current year will reach the average annual level, which allows to forecast the general grain production in Russia within range of 75-85 mln tonnes, declared Andrew Sizov (the company SovEcon), during the present Grain Trading Summit, taking place in Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh (April 17-19).
Russia: difficult situation on the domestic market of grains - 15.04.2011

The present situation on the Russian market of grains keeps rather difficult, according to experts. The grain export embargo almost stopped selling volumes of grains from the southern regions of Russia, where agrarians already started the mass sowing works of grains and leguminous plants. The harvesting works of early grains will begin in the nearest future.
Kazakhstan increased agricultural products output by 1.8% - 15.04.2011

In the first quarter of 2011, the gross volume of agricultural products (services) output in Kazakhstan totaled 175.05 bln KZT (1204.75 mln USD), and increased by 1.8% compared to the same period of 2010, stated the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Russia: losses of winter grain sowings to reach the average annual level - 12.04.2011

According to data of the Analytical center of CJSC Rusagrotrans, 96% of winter grain sowing areas in southern regions of the Russian Federation show good and satisfactory condition. Agrarians of the southern regions already started the sowing works of early spring crops. Other regions of the country provide the active preparation works for the spring sowing campaign.
Kazakhstan: prices for sold agricultural products grew by 9.7% - 12.04.2011

In the first quarter of 2011, prices for sold agricultural products in Kazakhstan increased by 9.7% compared to the same period of 2010, declared the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Russia: Ministry of Agriculture realizes the complex of measures for shipment of feed grains from the intervention fund - 07.04.2011

In accordance with the decree of the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation realizes the complex of measures for shipment of feed grains from the intervention fund without providing of auction trades. 224 elevators of the intervention fund will realize the unloading operations, declared Elena Skrynnik, Minister of Agriculture, on March 31.
Russia sowed spring crops throughout 517 thsd ha - 07.04.2011

To date, agrarians of the Southern, North Caucasian and Far Eastern Federal Districts of the Russian Federation sowed spring crops throughout the areas of 517 thsd ha, including Krasnodar Krai – 294 thsd ha, Stavropol Krai – 157 thsd ha, declared the press-cutting service of the Ministry of Agriculture on April 6.

In 2011, Russia plans to realize the spring sowing campaign throughout the areas of 50 mln ha, including grains – nearly 30 mln ha, in order to reach grain production volumes at the level of 85 mln tonnes, declared Elena Skrynnik, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on April 1.
Russia: as of March 30, the intervention fund sold 20.5 thsd tonnes of grains only - 31.03.2011

On March 30, 2011, the National Commodity Exchange provided regular exchange trades of grains from the state intervention reserve. The Government sold 20.486 thsd tonnes of grains at the general sum of 123.989 mln RUR (4.34 mln USD).
