Russia: grain harvest may exceed the optimistic forecast of 90 mln tonnes – E.Skrynnik – 31.08.2011

The Russian agricultural sector recovered after the experienced drought last year, due to the state support. According to Elena Skrynnik, Minister of Agriculture of Russia, under support of the state authorities all problems were resolved, the state support became increased, resulting that the industry not only survived, it increased production volumes.

In the current year the Ministry of Agriculture expects that the general grain production will exceed the optimistic forecast of 90 mln tonnes.

The Minister stressed that development of exports is the point of growth of Russian agriculture. The country will arrange delivery of food on the world market.
