Russia: Tuapse sea trading port to complete building of the new grain terminal in the second half of 2009 – 24.04.2009

In the first quarter of 2009, cargo flow of Tuapse sea trading port totaled 4.2 mln tons, a decrease of 12% compared to the same period of the previous year, declare the press-cutting service of the port. In the first quarter of 2009, grain processing volumes totaled 75.000 tons.

During three months of 2009, the volumes of dry cargo shipment decreased by 24% compared to the same period of 2008, and totaled 0.8 mln tons.

The volumes of bulked cargos in the structure of import cargo flow also decreased.

The reduction of cargo flow of Tuapse sea trading port was caused by the decrease of business activity of consignors of goods in the terms of the financial crisis.

Despite the negative factors of the foreign economic activity, the company continues to realize own developmental program, oriented on widening of the variety of shipment cargos. The port plans to construct the shipment complex with annual processing capacities of 2 mln tons in the second half of 2009, according to the press-cutting service.
