United States hopes for quicker resumption of cooperation between Ukraine and IMF – 27.06.2010

The United States hopes that Ukraine will more quickly restart its cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Tefft said at a meeting with journalists and experts in Kyiv on Thursday.

"We are confident that Ukraine will as quickly as possible start to resume its economic growth through cooperation with the IMF," he said.

Tefft said that IMF experts were currently in Kyiv and that the details of the talks were unknown.

"But I do know that the president and the Ukrainian government understand how important it is to reach agreement," he said.
