2009 rice crop boosted by 41.8%, up to 142,900 MT – 20.01.2010

In 2009 agrarians have harvested 142,900 MT rice, up 42,100 MT (+ 41.8%) against 2008, reported State Statistics Committee referring to 2009 main agricultural crops harvesting results. As to Committee, 2009 rice average yield was 58,3 metric centners per ha (up as of 50,9 metric centners per ha in 2008); rice was harvested at 24,500 ha (up against 19,800 ha in 2008). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, in 2008 agrarians harvested 100,800 MT rice, down 7,200 MT (- 6.8%) as of 2007. As to Agro Perspective, in 2007 agrarians had harvested 108,000 MT rice, up 8,500 MT (+ 8.5%) as of 2006
