2009 sugar beet crop fell by 25.4%, down to 10.021 mn MT – 20.01.2010

As reported State Statistics Committee referring to 2009 main agricultural crops harvesting results, in 2009 agrarians have harvested 10.021 mn MT sugar beet, down 3.417 mn MT (- 25.4%) against 2008. As to Committee, 2009 sugar beet average yield was 313,6 metric centners per ha (down as of 356,2 metric centners per ha in 2008); sugar beet was harvested at 319,500 ha (down against 377,200 ha in 2008). As to Agro Perspective earlier report, in 2008 agrarians harvested 13.438 mn MT sugar beet, down 3.54 mn MT (- 19.2%) as of 2007. As to Agro Perspective, in 2007 agrarians had harvested 16.972 mn MT sugar beet, down 5.356 mn MT (- 23.9%) as of 2006.
