Food imports grow by USD 813 million in 2009 – 12.03.2010

Ukraine reduced the export of plant products, food, as well as fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin by over USD 2.871 billion in 2009 year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee has reported.
 
At the same time, food imports grew by more than USD 813 million last year.
 
Ukraine exported 12.7% of plant products last year (including 9% of grain crops), 5.3% of food, 5.3% of fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin, from the overall volume of exports. In general, Ukraine exported USD 39.703 billion worth of goods last year.
