Sunflower oil export regulations may change – 09.02.2010

According to the Ministry of Economy, sunflower oil exports from Ukraine exceed acceptable levels. The Ministry estimates, that monthly sunoil export should not exceed 159 KMT. At present, monthly exports average 200 KMT. The Ministry of Economy intends to set export quotas to prevent domestic sunflower oil shortages and limit price inflation.

But UkrAgroConsult believes that export quotas help no one. However sunflower oil exports fell by 42% in January to 156 KMT from 269 KMT in December 09 and we don’t expect further increases of sunoil exports in February.
