EastAgri Annual Meeting 2008 in Paris – 05.09.2008

The event will take place in Paris on 11-12 September 2008 at Fédération Nationale du Crédit Agricole. EastAgri is a network of IFIs, private banks and bilateral donors investing in agricultural/agribusiness in Eastern and Central Europe (ECE), the Caucasus and Central Asia. The objective of EastAgri is to maximize exchanges of lessons learned by its members in the area of agricultural/agribusiness financing and coordinate their interventions in the region. Among EastAgri members, the following institutions have already confirmed their participation to the meeting: the World Bank, the OECD, the EU, the EBRD, the IFC, and Crédit Agricole. Practitioners involved in investment projects and academics will also come to share their experience. This year, discussions will revolve around the following topics: Instruments for agricultural financing and risk management in the EastAgri region Soaring food prices: a window of opportunities for Russia and Ukraine? Adding value to the EastAgri region's agricultural products: Good Agricultural Practices, Quality Labels and Geographical Indications Participatory approaches to rural development in the Western Balkans
